Vestax

Like many other producers of high-end electronics and audio hardware, Vestax has their roots in Japan.

They started out in the mid 1970s, as a producer of electric guitars. In the 1980s, they expanded their line with the introduction of multitrack cassettes. And today, Vestax continues to push the boundaries of music technology with their DJ turntables, professional mixers, CD players and signal processors.

The company has been careful to focus on the needs of professional club DJs in the design of their mixers, and that's why they're considered a favourite amongst top pros such as Cut Chemist, DJ Cubert, Carl Cox and others. The PMC-05pro - in particular - has been a staple of the DJ and Hip-Hop world for many years.

They've taken great care in designing their products with DJs in mind. Many of their turntables include built-in mixers, and they also have battery-powered mixer/turntable combos. And most notably, Vestax was one of the first companies to release home vinyl recorders into the consumer market.

But Vestax is probably best known for their innovation of the straight tone arm. Many DJs claim that this greatly improves tracking when beat-juggling or scratching. Many other manufacturers have since copied this technology and adapted it to their own turntables.
